Anthony Diaz was born in San Antonio, Texas but moved to Ocala, Florida when he was 5 years old. Music has been running through his blood ever since he was born. His grandfather was a well known Puerto Rican jazz percussionist and his entire family has been involved in the arts. Anthony was very fortunate to grow up with all types of music playing throughout his home. He started playing the drums when he was about nine years old and has been playing live since middle school. He'll probably play the drums till he can't anymore. He has been playing with The Burnin Smyrnans for about 4 years and it has been a blast,he enjoys traveling and meeting all the new people along the way. His biggest inspiration probably comes from a hand full of drummers and musicians first and foremost Humberto Morales (my grandfather),John Henry Bonham, Art Blakey ,Bob Marley, Stevie Wonder, Frank Zappa, Miles Davis, and the list goes on. Music is his life and he enjoys every aspect of it. When He's not performing, you can probably catch him watching a concert somewhere or jammin’ with friends.
